/24-7PressRelease/ - Cleveland, OH, June 26, 2008 — Author Laurie Frey takes readers on a vulnerable and insightful journey in Unbeatable [the whole story], a book to release on July 16, 2008. The book is a 360-degree look at Laurie's journey, with her husband, friends and family each voicing a realistically unique and often untold view, that not all things are as they appear - there are always two sides to every story. Frey traces her steps, treatments and emotions as she battled Stage 3 Breast Cancer for an entire year.
Laurie Frey loved her life - a talented husband, a precious little boy, a great house, and a fabulous job in the entertainment industry. It was all good. But one unexpected phone call turned her life upside down.
At the age of 40, Laurie was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Suddenly the deadly disease that now threatened her life took center stage. In the same year, every piece of her world came crashing down around her. When her son was diagnosed with autism, her father had a heart attack and her brother was sent to war in Iraq, Laurie's physical, emotional and spiritual limits were put to the test. When she turned to her husband for strength and support, he began to pull away just when she needed him most.
There were only two lifelines left: laughter and faith. This is the true story of how one woman joked and prayed her way out of the ashes and discovered a new, richer life, filled with deep connections and even deeper love. Take the journey with her and find out how we are all, in the end, unbeatable.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
"Life is busy. But do we make 'busy' to ignore the important things - family, friends, and taking care of ourselves? Laurie Frey in UNBEATABLE [the whole story] takes the reader on a journey that is so
engaging I couldn't put it down. Why? Because in her remarkable writing she feeds me all of the emotions I love to feel. She makes her story my story...each of our stories. Her breast cancer journey shares so many similarities to my breast cancer journey, but she is able to break beyond the realm of breast cancer and make her story align with each of us who run our lives on high speed. Frey does an incredible job to
remind the reader that 'every moment counts' and not to ignore the important things in life."
Susan Rafte, Executive Director
Pink Ribbons Project, in motion against breast cancer
14 year Stage 4 Cancer Survivor
"Laurie Frey conceived a musical about her breast cancer journey that is absolutely brilliant and life changing. But that was just a glimpse of her real journey. UNBEATABLE [the whole story] gives you all the dirty little secrets about breast cancer, and let's you know its okay to laugh at them. This is a startlingly honest, joyously funny, quietly moving little book about a woman we all know well, because some part of her lives in each of us."
Cassie Goldbach, Actress
"Unfortunately, it's not uncommon to frequently hear of cancer striking individuals. It's also not uncommon to hear of many individuals that have beat cancer and survived. However, what we often don't hear is the battle waged in between. UNBEATABLE [the whole story] is the account of one such battle that exposes the agony of helplessness while demonstrating the genuine power of hope and humorous reality that could only be supplied by an unshakeable faith in God."
