/24-7PressRelease/ - HONG KONG, CHINA, March 24, 2008 - The Chamber is dedicated to opening enormous trade opportunities by providing extensive information and professional services to its members.

What is the main purpose of the organization?
Economic cooperation is the main focus of the overall bilateral relations between the Arab World and Hong Kong/Greater China. The Chamber is a vital platform providing more than trade links to develop business, it promotes essential cultural understanding. ARABCCI is independent of government. It has a financial foundation of voluntary subscriptions and fees from professional business services. Every penny the Chamber raises is put back into the Society to provide even better services and wider represantations throughout the Arab World and Hong Kong/Greater China.

How do you achieve this?
To help achieve this, the Chamber works closely and extensively with both private and public sectors to help ensure that members obtain proficient services and ideal community environment in which to operate.

What was the reason for cooperation with WHO´S WHO INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE?
ARABCCI and I have clearly identified with the magazine ´s philosophy and initiative, in bringing to highlight the exceptional personalities behind the corporate success headlines, as being essential in keeping with the human factor subsistence. The Arab Chamber has therefore unmistakably adopted the WHO´S WHO INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE as our preferred medium for introducing and promoting Arab and Chinese outstanding entrepreneurs to one another and to the international readership in issues to come.

A Personality of Great Integrity and Vision
Lord Edwin E. Hitti, born in Damascus, Canadian by naturalization, was brought up in a semi-political and elitist milieu, descendant of two well respected Middle East families. The Hitti´s, a family who´s peerage dates back to the "Hittites" tirteenth century BC and the Farah´s, a family who´s most famous member was Elia Farah, last Governor of the Greater Syria Region under the Ottoman Empire.

Lord Edwin started his career in 1983, advising governments at head-of-state level on matters of economics and strategic alliances. He setup a private network of experts across a wide variety of fields to offer "Imaginative Solutions" to intractable problems. He is a resourceful philantropist who, after many years of discreetly advising heads of state in North America, the Middle East and South East Asia, provided policy and economics strategy advice to government, public and private sectors.

Edwin E. Hitti attained his "Lordship" title by a duly enacted legal bestowment of lineage. The key to his success is the strategy he adopts in developing close relationships with key individuals, based on mutual trust and confidentiality. He is a Shariah scholar by virtue of ethnicity and background.

Lord Edwin E. Hitti is the founder of the Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Hong Kong, a non-profit organisation and the sole Commercial Arab Chamber within the Greater China region. He has been at the forefront of setting up the building blocks of Islamic banking
and finance in Hong Kong. Subsequently establishing, the first Hong Kong "Sharia Advisory Council" and most recently launching the Hong Kong "HK Islamic Index" an instrumental platform at establishing and enhancing Islamic Banking & Finance in Hong Kong and China.
He is author of "Glassnotes on the Sideline" published in Montreal and "Basic Mechanics of Islamic Capitalism", the first of three volumes published in Hong Kong.
