    PARIS, FRANCE, February 4, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Willy Mathot, a French Avocat registered at the Paris Bar, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in business law.

In January 2013, Willy embraced private practice and is now a French Avocat registered at the Paris Bar. He formerly was a General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in the pharmaceutical industry, which he joined in 1990.

Willy now provides strategic regulatory legal and IP advice primarily in the life science sector to enable the creation, the activities and the growth of companies and VCs and negotiates and drafts all documentation and contracts necessary to complete their commercial, industrial or equity (private or IPO) operations. Willy is a 26-year experienced international business lawyer with 22 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Willy started his career in 1986 with the English law firm Theodore Goddard as a solicitor (conseil juridique) and gained experience in company law and M&A. In 1990, he joined Ipsen, an international pharmaceutical company with more than 30 affiliates world-wide, of which he was Corporate General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, managing a team of 15 in Paris' headquarters and distant teams in the USA, Russia and China. Willy has broad experience in M&A, private equity and licensing international transactions. In particular and besides enabling the daily businesses world-wide from a legal view point, Willy carried out Ipsen 320MEUR IPO on Euronext in 2005, and a number of combined private equity and licensing transactions requiring multilateral negotiations with VCs in various countries. He also completed 3 simultaneous acquisitions in the USA worth 400MEUR in 2008 and other structuring operations such as a 130MEUR Franco Japanese Italian partnership. Willy also has developed an expertise in dispute resolution and litigation and as an example he secured an 18MEUR gain in litigation before the Court of Appeal of Paris and 39MEUR by settling a dispute in the USA.

Willy holds a Master II in International Business Law, a Master I in commercial law and an MBA from Paris Sorbonne University.
