Sinatra at 6
Sinatra Family Album

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA, May 11, 2010
/24-7PressRelease/ -- During the month of May, the Internet radio station
Martini in the Morning is celebrating the
Sinatra Days in May by giving away copies of the Charles Pignone book "Frank Sinatra - The Family Album". The book is full of dozens of family photos, some never published before, all featuring comments from members of the Sinatra family, even some of Frank's own comments. Twice daily Martini in the Morning features a new Sinatra trivia question. One winner from all correct entries received for each question wins a copy of the book.
Sinatra at Six is
Martini in the Morning's twice-daily tribute to the man who put this music on the map. Francis Albert Sinatra recorded and re-recorded the songs of the Great American Songbook throughout his career. So at 6:00 am and 6:00 pm Pacific time daily (Mon-Fri) they play three Sinatra songs from the vast catalog. From the familiar and popular to the rare and even some lost or forgotten cuts.
Sinatra today sells more music now than when he was alive. Baby Boomers are gravitating to "Standards" faster than they flocked to rock in the 60s. "It's a lifestyle thing," says Brad "Martini" Chambers, Chief Creative Officer at The Standard Media Group, a North Hollywood, CA based company operating
www.MartiniInTheMorning.com, one of the most listened to Internet Radio Stations of its kind.
Calling their format Contemporary Standards, Chambers has created a blend of songs he calls "Classic Cool", featuring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald and the like, with "Contemporary Cool" artists like Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr., Diana Krall and Rod Stewart. The latter group have had recent success attracting baby boomers to the Great American Songbook. The station is unique in the fact that it has a live morning show, hosted each weekday by Brad himself. Additional day parts will soon be filled out as well. The format is available for terrestrial syndication.
"We play more Sinatra than any AM or FM station in the country," Chambers said. "We are introducing new people to "The Chairman of the Board". We played Frank Sinatra's 1966 pop hit That's Life, and a 40-something woman from Alabama wrote that she didn't know that Frank Sinatra did "That's Life". Like so many listeners new to the genre, she thought Michael Buble's version was the original."
Standard Media Group is headed by former Clear Channel radio programming executive Brad Chambers. The Standard's programming is based on the music often referred to as The Great American Songbook. The Standard is NOT just another radio format. The Standard is a multi-platform, multimedia LIFESTYLE COMPANY that delivers Adult Standard content in an Adult Contemporary package over a variety of distribution platforms.
