Winnie Lau Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Floral Design

    TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, January 7, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Winnie Lau, Floral Designer and Owner of Northern Florist, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in the management of a successful floral and gift shop.

Originally from Hong Kong, China, Winnie Lau established Northern Florist at 1128 The Queensway to offer exceptional and unique floral arrangements to customers throughout the greater Toronto area and beyond. Her passion for floral design first manifested itself as a hobby, but Winnie realized it would be the perfect business model for her; she could own her own business, continue to work as a designer, and remain fully involved in the lives of her children as well as her community.

Now celebrating Northern Florist's 30th anniversary, Winnie continues to create spectacular floral arrangements for all occasions and locations. Whether it be exotic, tranditional or somewhere in between, Winnie has the skill set to create the most memorable arrangement imaginable. She created floral bouquets for the Miss Canada and Miss Teen Canada pageants, floral arrangements for various Skate Canada shows, and champions' bouquets for the 2006 and 2011 Skate Canada International Competition. Her floral designs have appeared on various episodes of Rookie Blue and Saving Hope and she has worked with corporations such as Microsoft Canada and Panasonic Canada. Her theme arrangements are especially sought after for condominium projects, grand openings, ground breakings, and agents showcases, just to name a few.


Winnie attributes the success she has achieved through Northern Florist to her ability to build mutually respectful and trusting relationships with her customers and clients. She knows also that to be successful one must be a great listener and communicatior, provide exceptional customer service, have high standards, and take pride in one's work - all qualities that Winnie posesses in spades. To bolster the experiences and skills she learned during her two years at the University of Guelph as well as through her time in 1990 and 1992 at Flowers Canada School of Floral Design (which awarded her the Outstanding Student Award) and a floral design course she completed at Seneca College, she continues to attend highly-acclaimed design workshops to learn about and lead up-to-date design trends and become inspired. Her stellar work has kept many customers coming back again and again for 20 years.
