WM Exchange Hosts Training Workshop on Creating Great Leaders

WM Exchange hosted a workshop on Monday, August 10th, 2015 to develop individuals into great leaders.

    NEW YORK, NY, August 15, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In their Wall Street office, WM Exchange hosted a workshop where the objective was to enhance skills in creating successful leaders. WM Exchange know that for a business to grow and expand successfully it needs to have the ability to replicate itself and its team. The best way to do this is have a team of leaders who can not only be great leaders but also replicate their success by coaching others in developing great leadership skills. WM Exchange ran a workshop getting their core leaders to go back to basics when guiding their peers into stronger leaders. When WM Exchange takes on new representatives, they participate in a basic skills workshop that ensures firm basis for further skills to be based on. It is important that workers revisit the basics periodically to maintain the high level of service the company can offer its clients.

This week a refresher was on the agenda in the office and intense coaching lay focus on leadership qualities and why it is important to implement these qualities through all areas of the business. Sharing information and participating in interactive workshops on leadership qualities was on the agenda, the main transferable traits explored were;

1. Persistence, Persistence, Persistence - WM Exchange laid focus on Henry Ford and his success story, outlining his first endeavour of the unsuccessful Quadricycle and how the initial failure did not deter Ford from becoming one of the wealthiest men in the world when he founded the Ford Motor Company. The emphasis here was to coach using failures as learning opportunities too.

2. Thick skin. Rhino-thick. - WM Exchange feel that its leaders need to develop a thick skin when it comes to business. Not everyone will have the capability to see potential in a business or idea. WM Exchange used the example of Walt Disney and the countless claims he lacked creativity and imagination and would never become a success.....

3. An Eye for Talent - WM Exchange know that great leaders surround themselves with other great minds. Steve Jobs was always on the hunt for talent in unique ways, like accepting invitations to lecture at universities so he could scout potential employees. Jobs personally interviewed over 5,000 applicants during his lifetime, managing all the hiring for his team.

4. Can't Get No Satisfaction - What do Google, Yahoo, and Facebook have in common? All are billion dollar companies that started in dorm rooms. Great business leaders are never satisfied and continually strive to take their business to the next level. As Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA, said, "The most dangerous poison is the feeling of achievement. The antidote is to every evening think what can be done better tomorrow." WM Exchange couldn't agree more with this and offer time in the day for its workers to reflect on the day, and highlight areas where improvements could occur to inspire ideas for improvement.

5. Fearlessness - WM Exchange used the example of serial entrepreneur Richard Branson, when he was younger, his aunt bet him that he couldn't learn to swim during their family vacation. After failing to master the skill during the trip, on the drive home, he asked his father to pull over the car. He jumped into a river, swam, and won the bet. Today, Branson, the founder of the Virgin Group, which is made up of over 400 companies, believes in a philosophy of taking risks and stepping out of your comfort zone. "You don't learn to walk by following rules," Branson said. "You learn by doing, and by falling over." WM Exchange encourage its work force to encourage fearlessness in leadership to extend an individual's boundaries, to strive for constant improvement.

6. Owning Your Mistakes - WM Exchange encourages its leaders to command respect from those around them by showing human traits, including owning mistakes, and apologising were possible. They used the example of Amazon deleting copies of unauthorized versions of Animal Farm and 1984 from users' Kindles, there was an immediate negative backlash. Not only did Amazon cop to the mistake in an official press statement, CEO Jeff Bezos personally apologized, admitting that the company's solution to the problem was "stupid, thoughtless, and painfully out of line with our principles." He also offered, "deep apologies to our customers."

7. Toughness - WM Exchange know that if an entrepreneur wants to lead in the business world, they're going to have to stand up for themselves.

8. Winning Friends and Influencing People -WM Exchange coaches its leaders that while it is important to be tough, it is also important to build positive relationships in work as people tend to strive for success more when they are working with people they like. Promoting a positive culture is something WM Exchange promote through their entire company.

9. Singular Vision - WM Exchange know that for a business to be successful its leaders need to be ambitious. Using the example of Howard Schultz ad his vision of a single brand with coffeehouses across the globe. He turned that dream into a reality and founded Starbucks. "I think if you're an entrepreneur, you've got to dream big, and then dream bigger," he said. "It's seeing what other people don't see and pursuing that vision."

10. Powerfully Passionate - Above all, a true leader is passionate about whatever venture he or she is undertaking. WM Exchange want its leaders to express passion through their work o inspire the same passion from their teams.
