Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Amy S. Petro as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    VENETIA, PA, June 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amy S. Petro, Owner/Professional Home Stager for Staging Perfection, has been recognized with a 2016 Excellence Award as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Amy S. Petro will be featured in an upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016.

After 13 years of being a stay-at-home-mom, Amy S. Petro was ready to get back to work. Using her skills in customer relations, and previous experience working as a Sales Representative for Standard Steel, Sales Associate/Merchandiser for Loft, and in several other roles, Amy knew that she wanted a career driven by client interaction. Home staging was the perfect fit for her.

"While at home with my kids, I became very interested in design and the housing market so I completed training through a Home Staging Training Program. Achieving this certification sparked my passion for helping others sell their homes quickly and for more money," Petro said. "I now get to enjoy helping others see their spaces differently, thanks to staging. I especially enjoy seeing how energized they become from the makeover. The before and after's inspire me to continue doing what I am doing, knowing that I made the right decision to pursue my new role."

As Owner of Staging Perfection in Venetia, Pennsylvania, Petro uses her eye for design to effectively stage clients' homes for sale. Understanding what buyers are looking for when searching for a home, Petro says, is key to helping her clients by knowing exactly what the competition is offering. Reaching out to local networking groups to expand her referral network and discuss various topics in the industry, as well as making sure to keep up with new and trendy furniture, paint colors, and other elements of design, she is constantly doing research to stay in the know. She also is sure to always have brochures and business cards on hand to promote her business, although she relies heavily on referrals.

Being a Professional Home Stager also means educating home buyers on the importance of her role in the industry. Often times, people just do not understand the value of staging their home before putting it on the market for sale.

"Spending a little money upfront can absolutely help a home sell faster and for more money," Petro stressed. "Decluttering and giving every room a purpose is so important."

Serving as Chairperson for the McMurray Chapter for Women's Business Network, a local networking group, Petro volunteers her time delivering Meals-on-Wheels, working at her children's schools, participating in walks for Alzheimer's Association, doing outdoor activities with her family, and cuddling up with a good book every once in a while. She holds a BA in Business Administration from the University Pittsburgh, her MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and her Home Staging Training Program Certification in May 2014.

Married to her husband, Mike Petro, who works in Capital Procurement for Alcoa, the two have been married for 17 years. Watching him work tirelessly to provide for his family, he has been Petro's biggest inspiration in life.

"I've learned that you can be middle-aged and still be trying to figure out what you want to do in life," she added. "I want to wake up on a Monday morning and love what I do. It's taken a while to figure out what that is, but I have finally found what inspires me and I've fully embraced it."
