SANTA FE, NM, April 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Blythe J. Silano, LPCC, Psychotherapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor of Blythe Silano, LPPC, has been recognized with a 2016 Excellence Award as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Blythe J. Silano, LPPC will be featured in Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016.

Establishing her own practice in 1996, Blythe Silano, LPCC, located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Silano offers counseling services both in her office and via phone and Skype, both nationally and internationally. As a Psychotherapist, Professor, and Speaker for many years, she focuses on compassionate communication, which is a foundational tool to listen to the way in which the clients speaks about themselves and how language has an intimate relationship, creating necessary trust between client and therapist, and the issues each client brings with them to a session.

"I am not a therapist who uses many bells and whistles in sessions," Silano said. "Rather, I rely on listening deeply. I also question and provide answers by carefully tracking and responding to what is expressed. Confidentiality and creating a meaningful relationship with my clients is essential, as it builds trust, a predominate tool that serves to create self-discovery and healing."

Some of the most significant contributing factors to Silano's success has everything to do with what has inspired her over the years to do good work. Teaching and mentoring others new to the field and supervising seasoned therapists has been both rewarding and uplifting. She's been equally inspired by working with others who suffer for various reasons and help guide how they make their own paths toward healing. More importantly, as someone who has experienced ongoing issues with her own body, living with a chronic illness and having survived cancer, her strong desire to ask and find answers in finding relief and healing in transformative ways has certainly played a significant role.

Silano first began her career in psychotherapy in 1996. Over the course of her career, she has spent time serving on various boards, including the International Board of Directors for Attitudinal Healing, on the foundational committee in an effort to reduce childhood and teen suicide, was a member of the Board of Directors for the Life Center for Youth and Adults where she was also invited to serve as their Executive Director, and served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for her alma mater, Southwestern College Graduate School. She also formed the first Cancer Support Group at St. Vincent Hospital and in all of Santa Fe in 1996. In 1999, Silano was recognized with a Santa Fe, New Mexico's Business Excellence Award by US West for her contribution as a small business that does good work in her community.
