Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Diane Hogan as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

Diane Hogan will be featured in the upcoming edition in 2015/2016.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, December 12, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Diane Hogan, Owner and President of A Step Ahead Adoption Services, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Diane Hogan will be featured in the upcoming edition in 2015/2016.

Founding her business in 1999 in Charlotte, North Carolina by Diane Hogan, she eventually relocated her family to Colorado, Springs and renamed her business A Step Ahead Adoption Services, expanding their operation to multiple states.

Working with seven contracted adoption consultants and consulting with client families across the United States, Mrs. Hogan is the primary contact for maintaining working relationships with the adoption agencies and attorneys to whom she refers client families.

"My husband Pat and I have two adopted children," Mrs. Hogan explained, noting that they have been open, domestic adoptions who have grown up with the knowledge and ongoing communication with their birth families. "We adopted through a Texas agency and while we had two successful adoptions, we also experienced two failed ones. It was through the losses that I realized there needed to be an advocate/coach for the adopted family. Once we finished our two adoption procedures, I decided to work more directly with adoptive families to help educate them on their consumer rights, how to establish their adoption plan, and how to best advocate for themselves to agencies and attorneys."

A Step Ahead Adoption Services has assisted over 900 families with successful adoption experiences throughout the country. They work with families from all faiths, racial backgrounds, married, and single.

A recent cancer survivor of Hodgkins' Lymphoma since 2014, Mrs. Hogan is an active volunteer in the Colorado Springs community. She has volunteered with the Girl Scouts of America, Colorado Springs Conservatory, Junior Achievement, CASA, and for various activities for her children's schools. She holds a BS and MS in Education, and worked in public education for 20 years previously.
