Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Francine Houston as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    LANSING, MI, January 21, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Francine Houston, Apparel Sewer Machine Operator II at Peckham, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Francine Houston will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015/2016.

Beginning her career as a Graphic Intern for a fashion company in college, Francine Houston is now working as an Apparel Sewer Machine Operator II for Peckham in Lansing, Michigan. Producing clothing for the military, she is also responsible for the accurate alignment of fabrics, garments, and materials under needles by using marks on machines, clamps, templates, cloth, and notches as guides. This position is what guides garments or garment parts under the machine needles and presser foot pedals to proficiently sew cloth parts together using several types of sewing machines.

Ms. Houston has also since developed her own fashion line under the name of FH Designs. Designing custom clothing for both men and women, her styles are very one-of-a-kind.

"It is important that people have an alternative to contemporary fashion in this world," Ms. Houston said about her fashion ideas. "I hope to inspire many more people choose to wear my brand, FH Designs, in the future and I am excited about the possibilities."

Ms. Houston previously worked for and with Erollins Fashion Marketing Group, Tsylist, Fannie Lucille, MarkMan Studio, and SevenSeventy Photography. She does Fannie Lucille's fashion shows called Vehicle City and The Fashion Week. She is also the recipient of an Excellence Award for her work.
