Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Geralda E. Morency as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    PHILADELPHIA, PA, July 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Geralda E. Morency, Early Childhood Educator for Sonshine Christian Preschool, Ministry of the First Church of the Nazarene in Malden, Massachusetts, led by Pastor Gerald Whetstone, has been recognized with an Excellence Award as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Geralda E. Morency will be featured in Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016/2017.

For the past eight years, Geralda E. Morency has been educating the children as a teacher responsible for lesson plans and curriculum, providing an efficient and inviting learning environment, and encouraging her fellow teacher and student interaction.

"My love for children is the number one reason why I pursued a career in early childhood education. Believing that each and every one of us has a purpose is what has given me the drive and passion to get where I am today as a contributor to mankind," Morency said. "So leaving this world by fulfilling that purpose, to me, means the world."

Prior to beginning her career in education, Morency worked as a Consultant for Jenny Craig, beginning in 2001, giving her the exposure and the training as a coach, mentor, and educator. Getting back to her roots, in 2016 she decided to go back to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she spent most of her teenage years, to also serve as a companion to a 91-year-old woman.
"I am honored to have worked with both age groups, preschoolers and elders," she said. "It's not about the amount of years we live, but rather how we live those years."

Graduating from high school in 1992, Morency is currently working toward her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is an active member of Tabernacle Church of the Christian Covenant, Tabernacle Church of Philadelphia, and a proud family member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Malden, Massachusetts.
