Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Rae Olin Luskin as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

Rae Olin Luskin will be featured in the upcoming May 2016 edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine.

DEERFIELD, IL, May 01, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rae Olin Luskin, Founder of Art and Soul Connection and Founder of The Winning Adventure, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Rae Olin Luskin will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016.

Sixteen years ago, Rae Olin Luskin founded Art and Soul Connection, an art school that focused on teaching children and families how to use creative expression to nurture self-esteem, resilience and improve their health and relationships.

In 2010, Ms. Luskin authored her first book, 'Art from my Heart', which includes over 50 easy, fun art and writing activities. In 2013 she founded The Winning Adventure. Helping women stand in their brilliance, power and purpose she adores helping clients discover who they really are. She holds a container of loving support while they answer the tough questions, 'Who am I?', 'Why am I here?', 'How can I bring more meaning and fulfillment into my life?''. With a proven track record, she has helped thousands of women find their passion, rediscover their creativity, and fashion a larger vision for their life.

"Art and service saved my life," Ms. Luskin said. "After being sexually abused from the ages of 7-13, I suffered from obesity, depression and other emotional scars. One day, I decided I would not be a victim anymore. After 12 years in talk therapy I was surviving but not thriving. I wanted more. I took charge of my healing and became a personal development junkie. My whole life changed, I became healthier, happier, and life was richer and more fulfilling."

Over the last few years, Ms. Luskin has interviewed 150 leaders around the country and in August 2015 she published 'The Creative Activist: Make the World Better, One Person, One Action at a Time'. The book includes 36 stories of people who have used their gifts and talents, imagination, and creative thinking to make a difference in the lives of their families, community and the world. Each story is followed with three journal questions and a take-action step. In her elevator speech she says that personal development meets leadership. She says her dream is to engage, inspire and encourage one million creative activists around the world who we will give a voice to the voiceless.

"Through courageous conversations, creative projects, and small acts of random kindness we will open hearts and minds, empower women to reach their full potential, and ignite global change," she added. "We will create a world where women and girls are safe, loved and respected. We will develop a community of people who are committed to taking action rather than complaining about the state of the world and humanity."

Always finding ways to balance her artistic side and her desire to improve the lives of women and children, Ms. Luskin has been a community activist for over 40 years. She has been active with the National Council of Jewish Women and Jewish Community Abuse Response, Education Solutions, and continues to share her artwork and personal story of sexual abuse and healing to offer hope to others. Ten percent of the proceeds from her book are going to Northwest Center Against Sexual Assault. Community partners have said that her commitment to the issue of preventing abuse of all types in our society is enduring and her energy toward that goal boundless... Because her viewpoint is filtered through an artistic lens, she continually offers ideas that are both innovative and creative...She is strong and articulate and can lead her cause...Her work has the potential to prevent abuse and broken hearts across the world.

Ms. Luskin holds a BFA from Roosevelt University and a Master's in Urban Planning from Loyola University.
