Women of Distinction Magazine Selects "Recipient of the 2016 Excellent Award" Anna Lassiter Williams as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

Anna Williams will be featured in an upcoming edition in 2016.

WASHINGTON, DC, August 04, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anna Lassiter Williams, Independent Consultant, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Anna will be featured in the upcoming edition in 2016.

Efforts to develop and execute empirical studies contributing to evidence to stimulate legislation and public awareness initiatives that bolster geospatial, socio-political, economic equity, public health and advocacy denote Ms. Williams' long-term interest and passion.

Currently an Independent Consultant, Ms. Williams established her own business and takes on many roles including business development manager, regional manager, and principal consultant for Emissary Investigative Services, LLC (providing investigative and intelligence services). As a Broker and Account Executive for Colonial Life, she provides voluntary supplemental benefits education, enrollment, and customer service regarding voluntary, supplemental benefits offered to businesses (i.e., groups), as well as major medical and life insurance when time permits. In addition, she augments business strategies and assists with development through marketing and communications, as well as contract procurement. Ms. Williams is in the process of coordinating several large fundraising events, including the implementation of a political campaign for a 2018 Congressional candidate and executing an international scholarship honoring a close mentor, Dr. Stuart Murchison. Although confidential aspects regarding her career must remain confidential, she is in the process of generating a global research project and grant proposal.

"Approaches to share knowledge globally, and stimulate intercultural communication, sensitivity, and social responsibility in a highly globalized world are augmented by participating in cause- and community-driven cohorts, which subsequently bolsters change to mitigate structural and direct violence. In fact, I welcome future trials and tribulations; after all, the biggest challenge an individual will face is their own obstacles, blind spots regarding their world view, and how such are overcome through persistence," Ms. Williams said excitedly.

Ms. Williams matriculated at The University of Texas at Dallas pursuing a dual PhD in Criminology and MS in Geosciences, specifically Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT). She earned a MA degree from Columbia University in Clinical Psychology after graduating early from the College of Charleston with a BS in Psychology. Theoretical principals and methodologies underlying forensic psychology, neuropsychology, and functional neuroimaging (fMRI) techniques comprise the foundation fostering her development as a practitioner (i.e., clinical) and researcher (i.e., scientist). Additional state board licensure and professional certificates to work internationally include but are not limited to the following: Life, Accident, Health and HMO (LAH & HMO) insurance broker (i.e., major medical, supplemental, Medicare Part-D), benefits and Affordable Care Act specialist; Executive Certificate in Global Corporate Social Responsibility, Leadership and Management; Business Strategy (i.e., business intelligence, dynamic and global Consultant); Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Professional/Advanced Health Care Rescuer and Instructor; Swim and Sailing Instructor.

Ms. Williams continues to pursue specialized areas of education, as well as disseminate this knowledge to other individuals, communities and cultures worldwide by attending and presenting at conferences, workshops, and online trainings (e.g., webinars). Approximately two dozen empirical articles have been submitted or published in professional journals; she is the author of the novel, 'Integrity, Humility and Knowing Thyself: A Global Exploration' (in progress), and serves as an interdisciplinary content writer and editor with peers.

A leader across various disciplines, Ms. Williams is an avid humanitarian and philanthropist worldwide. She volunteers at several shelters for women and children who are homeless, mentally ill, and victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Fundraising for various campaigns (e.g., political, international education/STEM), advocacy and outreach embody related community involvement, as well as serving as a donor/partner to over a dozen non-profit organizations (e.g., Human Rights, Planned Parenthood, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Chesapeake Bay Foundation, ASPCA, Carter Center Foundation).

Finally, active interdisciplinary participation (e.g., board and committee leadership) and membership of vast professional organizations and Honor Societies include Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education; American Association of University Women (AAUW); United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF), AFCEA International, Ethical Corporation: Business Intelligence for Sustainability; Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ); United Nations (UN OCHA) and World Health Organization (WHO); Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and U.S. Sailing.
