Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Sue Swinger-Ellbogen as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

Sue Swinger-Ellbogen will be featured in an upcoming edition of Women of Distinction Magazine's Top Authors edition.

CHICAGO, IL, December 15, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sue Swinger-Ellbogen, Owner of Sue Swinger-Ellbogen Freelance Writing Business and Creative, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Sue Swinger-Ellbogen will be featured in an upcoming edition of Women of Distinction Magazine's Top Authors edition.

Established in 2012 and based in Chicago, Illinois, Sue Swinger-Ellbogen Freelance Writing Business and Creative is a part-time business that enables Owner Sue Swinger-Ellbogen to work with clients on an as-needed basis by helping them develop well-written resumes and gain positive social media credibility and exposure to assist with their career search. Bringing a wealth of experience with her to the table after spending many years working in the corporate environment for various retail manufacturers such as Levi Strauss & Co., Nautilus, Inc., and Alberto Culver/Unilever servicing large retailers like Walmart, Target, Walgreens, Kroger, JC Penny, Sears, and specialty boutiques, Swinger-Ellbogen exited the field as a Supply Chain Manager/Director only after being laid off when her company was sold. Taking the opportunity to get back into entrepreneurship, she fully vested her time in helping others move forward in their own careers with the help of various beneficial services.

"The first thing I do when I sit down with a client is discuss their goals, industry preferences, and areas of interest," Swinger-Ellbogen said. "Then we get into the specifics of his/her qualifications, skills, previous work experience, and other relative information. Once we've established a clear focus and direction in regard to what they are qualified to do and what direction they want to go in, I begin putting it all down on paper. Our collaborative goal is to make their resume strategic and searchable by recruiters. In addition to putting together a professional resume, we'll also be proactive about their social media accounts, such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. If they don't have a LinkedIn account, we will create one. Otherwise, I will look it over and make sure it is up to date, accurate, and being utilized properly for maximum gain. Lastly, I will work to build up their confidence by preparing them for future interviews. I do this by making them more aware of their own capabilities, strengths, and transferrable skills so that they feel more comfortable talking about themselves, because confidence is key."

Swinger-Ellbogen originally decided to begin on this venture after voluntarily writing resumes for former co-workers who had lost their jobs due to the same lay off she was subject to five years ago. Spending nearly six months writing resumes, she tallied 40 in all for her friends and former colleagues. Her resumes were so well written that 98% of them were successful in finding new jobs in less than three months and the other 2% landed positions within six months. Swinger-Ellbogen's track record continues to be stellar for people actively seeking employment; many people choose to update their resume and LinkedIn profile proactively before they need a new job.

Additionally, Swinger-Ellbogen works with college juniors and seniors on developing a resume and LinkedIn profile in preparation for graduation and their first job search. She conducts workshops at DePaul University and writing resumes pro bono for select students that cannot afford services, as well as writing memoirs for people who have lost loved ones or pets, Swinger-Ellbogen has also since published four young adult novels: 'Campfire Kids' (2010); 'Tabby Cat Trails' (2010); 'Missing in Tuscany' (2013); 'Adventures in Shanghai' (2016); and, coming soon, 'The Dali Mystery' (2017). She also published a cookbook in her daughter's memory who passed away of breast cancer in 2014, entitled 'Lee Anne's Birthday Celebration Cookbook'. All of Swinger-Ellbogen's books can be purchased on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.

Volunteering her time by making quilts for Lutheran Women's Relief, as well as for friends and family, Swinger-Ellbogen is a member of National Organization of Professional Women, Supply Chain Management Professionals, and Women in Supply Chain Management. She currently holds an Associate's in Liberal Arts from Three Rivers Community College, a Supply Chain Management Certificate from the University of Tennessee, and a Project Management Certificate through Right Management Outplacement.
