Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Susan McDermott as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    PORTLAND, OR, June 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Susan McDermott, Principal at Next Target, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Susan McDermott will be featured in an upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016.

Establishing her own consulting business in August 2015, Susan McDermott helps companies and individuals develop systems and tools that allow them to focus on their core skills and minimize the effort spent on the bureaucracy of the daily routine. As Principal and Owner, she focuses her time on process design and improvement, while continuing to build up clientele and a name for herself in the business.

"After many years of success within corporate America, I felt that I had much to offer the business world that I could not reach within the corporation," McDermott said. "My thought was if not now, then when would I pursue making a bigger impact. Now, I'm working as a sole proprietor helping companies design and deploy tools and systems that help them to focus on their core competencies."

A Mechanical Engineer by trade, McDermott earned her Bachelor's at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her professional engineer's license in South Carolina. She has more than 15 years of experience in several engineering and technical leadership roles, having served as VP of Engineering for Micropump and as West Coast Lab Manager for Underwriters Laboratories.

McDermott is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and is a Certified Facilitator of the Shingo Institute Discover Excellence program.
