Worldwide Who's Who Names Deborah Leigh Coblentz, MFT, LPC Professional of the Year in Psychotherapy

Deborah Leigh Coblentz Provides Exemplary Cognitive Behavioral Treatments to Relieve Clients of Anxiety and Depression



    Bend, OR, December 28, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah Leigh Coblentz, MFT, LPC, a Psychotherapist and Director of Intensive Psychiatric Day Treatment and Outpatient Services for The Child Center for Central Oregon, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in the field of Psychotherapy. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

Ms. Coblentz has extensive experience in child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy, featuring cognitive behavioral and animal assisted therapy. She excels assisting overachievers, special needs children and adolescents. She also specializes in treating performance anxiety and depression, as it relates to academic and sport performance issues. In 1986, she was selected by Mayor Tom Enery of San Jose, California to serve as the coach for the Northern California Volleyball All Star competition. Ms. Coblentz previously worked as a coach and trainer of individuals interested in obtaining division one athletic scholarships in the sport of women's volleyball. She herself, was a NCAA scholarship athlete in the sport of Women's Varsity Volleyball for the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she sefved as team captain for two years. In 1982, she was recognized by Wisconsin's Women's Athleteic Department for Outstanding Leadership. The University of Wisconsin Athletic Department honored her once again in 2009 on the Wisconsin Donor Wall of Fame for her continued monitary support of UW Athletic Scholarship Fund. In 2008, she was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame by Queen of Peace High School in Burbank, Illinois for her outstanding perfromance in the 1977 Illinois State Volleyball Championship Tournament. In 2010, she served as a guest lecturer for Dr. Hans Steiner, at Stanford University's Sport Psychology class with Stamford NCAA athletes, featuring the topic, "how to keep your passion alive after the NCAA Athletics."

Ms. Coblentz received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology in 1998 from John F. Kennedy University. In 1983, she received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Coaching from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oregon, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California. She is a member of Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists, Pet Pals and the American Board of Professional Counselors. In 2010, Ms. Coblentz was inducted as a Worldwide Who' Who VIP member for excellence in her field. In 2006, she was distinguished as one of America's Top Mental Health Professionals by the Consumers' Research Council of America. In 2005, she was bestowed with the Appreciation Award for Service by the South Bay Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Throughout her athletic and professional careers, she has consistently been recognized for her dedication, discipline and desire to provide the highest standards of athletic and clinical expertise available.
