GREENSBORO, NC, December 20, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/
-- Diane Joy Pelligrino, Author, Educator, Grief Counselor, Motivational Speaker, and Director of the Joy Company Youth Puppet Ministry, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Ministerial Services. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.
Ms. Pelligrino has 41 years of professional experience, with 23 years as the Director of Joy Company Youth Puppet Ministry. As a grief counselor, she prides herself on being an excellent listener, and she also has a skill set that involves airline troubleshooting and problem solving. In the course of her duties, she offers strategies for coping with grief. She makes herself available to everyone that needs someone to listen to and care for them. Ms. Pelligrino is motivated by the words "it can't be done." She sees 10 failures as 10 lessons on how not to do something in the future. She also highly values honesty and believes that the truth is the greatest liberator. The most gratifying aspects of her career are the ones that she is least recognized for. She enables others to motivate themselves and believe that all things are possible, including her own battle to fight to live against all odds when she was diagnosed with cancer.
Ms. Pelligrino attributes her success to believing that one person can make a difference, and her commitment to never give up on anyone, including herself. She became involved in her profession because she has been writing since she was 5 years old. The highlights of her career include memorable moments throughout diverse professions, such as working in the airline industry for 24 years; teaching hard-to-reach students; cheering in high school and college; being trained by Ford Modeling agency; representing the Iron Overload Society; studying medical research and graduating summa cum laude; and overcoming cancer and going through treatments for more than 24 years against all odds.
Ms. Pelligrino received a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she received Summa Cum Laude honors in 1971. In addition to her degree, she is pursuing a veterinarian technician license through Penn Foster. She has earned a certification in education (K-6), and she is a licensed bridal consultant, a certified pet sitter, and a certified educator. She is a member of the Nathan Hills School and Psi Chi Fraternity in Psychology. In honor of her achievements and service to her community, Ms. Pelligrino is a three-time recipient of a governor's award for appreciation for volunteerism from the Iron Overload Association. She is also a NC representative of the Iron Overload Association. To benefit others, she contributes to her local hospice, as well as United Way Worldwide and local cancer organizations.
