Worldwide Who's Who Names Donna R. Hendershot Professional of the Year in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography

Hendershot, RCS, RDCS, NR-CMA, AA, cardiac echo supervisor of Eden Medical Center, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in diagnostic cardiac sonography. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

As a young child, Donna R. Hendershot lived in a railroad refrigerator car with her family, before moving to a small $2,500 home without a bathroom. She often faced rejection and was told by people in positions of authority that she was a failure. Instead of allowing these discouragements to influence her negatively, Ms. Hendershot used them as source of empowerment. When given the opportunity, she enrolled in school and completed an associate's degree at Chabot College and a medical assistant degree at Bryman College (now Everest College). She also became a registered cardiovascular sonographer, a registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer, a national registered certified medical assistant, and a certified cardiovascular technologist. Drawing on her education, she embarked on a career in diagnostic cardiac sonography within the health care industry.

In the year 2000, Ms. Hendershot assumed a position as cardiac echo supervisor for Eden Medical Center. In her position, she oversees diagnostic testing for the heart, works collaboratively with physicians, and participates in speaking engagements. Ms. Hendershot believes that all individuals are special, regardless of where they come from or how they live. Inspired by her own harrowing upbringing, she teaches that it takes a dream, desire, and motivation to succeed.

Recognized for 35 years of invaluable contributions to the health care industry, Ms. Hendershot was honored as a Professional of the Year, a Top Female Executive, and a lifetime member by Worldwide Who's Who. She also garnered several awards from Cambridge Who's Who including Expert Resource, Elite American, Professional of the Year, and VIP, among others.
