Worldwide Who's Who Names Mary Jo Baughman Professional of the Year in Business Development & Implementation

With nearly three decades of professional experience, Ms. Baughman has honed her expertise in provider connectivity, business and technology strategy, and innovation for provider electronic solutions. She brings her experience and skills to the role of director of provider connectivity for WellPoint, Inc., a trusted health insurance company. Ms. Baughman works in the clinical health solutions department, identifying and implementing various projects, programs and plans that support provider connectivity strategies. She oversees strategic innovation, business development and implementation. Her further responsibilities include consulting, advising, and mentoring staff as well as holding an enterprise leadership role in ANGLE, a WellPoint Employee Resource Group. Ms. Baughman attributes her success to her personal and professional focus on continuous improvement.

Prior to working in this capacity, Ms. Baughman was the principal owner of a medical billing and consulting service for 13 years. In 2007, she earned an MBA in health care management from Regis University. She previously graduated with honors from Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science. Ms. Baughman is also a certified Project Management Professional. Looking toward the future, she intends to continue experiencing professional and personal growth in her provider connectivity role while also expanding her internal and external role as a diversity leader for WellPoint, Inc. through her associate resource group activities.
