Worldwide Who's Who Names Steven Arnie Johnson Professional of the Year in Engineering

    MUSKEGON, MICHIGAN, January 11, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Steven Arnie Johnson, Vice President of Engineering for L3-Combat Propulsion Systems, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Engineering. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

Rapidly advancing toward a 40-year career, Mr. Johnson feels that he has been able to accomplish his professional goals due to sheer tenacity, hard work, and a commitment to not accepting failure. As an experienced industry leader in the integration of complex systems, Mr. Johnson has paved the way to innovation in his field. He is primarily responsible for handling comprehensive responsibilities of the engineering division, engines and generators, transmissions, power density-high-priced products for the aerospace and defense applications as well as for those that are high-tech. He oversees 110 people and manages a direct report staff of 10, all of whom have plans, roles and responsibilities that he defines. He also supports both business developers and program managers on a daily basis, manages corporate strategy, business operations, expense projections for future budgets, and tools needed to provide positive returns on investments.

Mr. Johnson has done public speaking on organizational development and engineering careers at the local university. He has articles published, as well. He became involved in his profession because of the excitement he receives from designing merchandise and seeing how things work. He considers himself a 'geek type' with a creative mind, who likes to invent new products.

Mr. Johnson received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He later attended the same institute of higher education where he earned a Master of Science in Management of Technology, as well as a Master of Science in Software Engineering. At present, he sits on the University of Minnesota's Management of Technology Programs' Technological Leadership Board of Directors. Arnie also sits on the Board of Directors nonprofit group - Green OPS. He is a member of IEEE, SAE, the National Defense Industrial Association, International Council on Systems Engineering, and the Technological Leadership Institute. Mr. Johnson has received the BAE Systems' Chairman's Award, as well as several SAE Awards.
