Worldwide Who's Who Names Susan L. Shaw Professional of the Year in Educational Administration

    CASA GRANDE, AZ, July 11, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Susan L. Shaw, retired Senior Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness and Advancement at Central Arizona College, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in educational administration. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

With a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Arizona State University and 25 years of experience working in education administration, Ms. Shaw is an expert negotiator and facilitator. Prior to her retirement in January 2011, she oversaw the academic quality and improvement program (AQIP) accreditation process, alumni relations, grants, foundation, institutional planning and research and the office of public relations and marketing. She also had oversight the oversight of campus police, facilities, information technology, libraries, media services and residence life. Prior to joining Central Arizona College, Ms. Shaw worked at the Houston Health Science Center at the University of Texas, Arizona State University, the Arizona Department of Transportation, Arizona Women's Employment and Education and at Portland State University.

Ms. Shaw also holds a master's degree in counseling psychology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and a bachelor's degree in the social sciences from Binghamton University. She attributes her success to her counseling experience and strong rapport-building skills. Through a natural progression of opportunities, Ms. Shaw became involved in her profession, stating that the most gratifying aspect of her career is helping others. She continues to serve as a consultant.

Ms. Shaw also belongs to the American Association of Community Colleges, College and University Personnel Association, National Association of College and University Business Officers and the Society for Human Resource Management. She has given a national conference presentation for the Association for Quality and Participation and is an active member and the former president of the Sun Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development. In five years, Ms. Shaw intends to continue growing within the education field, and when she's not providing consulting services, she enjoys traveling.
