The flexible mortgage allows new parents to utilise the option of switching from capital repayment to interest only for any period of time. They can also redraw the previously paid funds and choose how much they pay at one point of time.

Pilling said that having a child could be an expensive time, especially if parents were losing part of their regular monthly income through leave. Pilling also told that apart from new parents, others could also benefit from the new flexible mortgage.
