Writer/ Producer Robert Woods Pushing the Envelope with "HANDI'S"

Disabilities, mental illness and the handicapped steal the show in new animated project.

LOS ANGELES, CA, January 31, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- New Jersey filmmaker Robert Woods hasn't just broken the mold, he's demolished it with his animated endeavor about a restaurant run entirely by handicapped employees. "'Handi's" and its band of misfits literally rip apart the American Dream with their own brand of sarcasm and off-color sense of humor that makes you wonder who the real handicapped people are...the employees or their customers.

Woods himself didn't start out to be a writer, instead he was being groomed to be a major league baseball player like his dad, who played in the Cubs organization. It was while dating an acting agent that Woods got bit by the acting bug. After several film roles, the character studies he had to do for roles woke up the screenwriter in him and everything else started to fall in
place . He began writing and producing and was taking film classes at NYU, where one of his classmates was Angelina Jolie. A lot of his inspiration for Handi's comes from not only his experience in the bar business, but also his mom, who was a restaurant waitress for some 25 years. One thing is for sure, Handi's will not only entertain, its gonna rattle a few cages and deliver a brand of irreverent comedy that has never been done before.
