The WSO2 "Security in the Cloud" workshop will identify the security challenges that can stop or slow a move to the cloud, review open source cloud middleware and security solutions, and explore best practices for safely maximizing the benefits of cloud. Topics include:
* Patterns and practices for overcoming the risks and challenges associated with different cloud deployment models.
* Best practices for ensuring data security in a multi-tenant environment.
* Approaches for building an effective governance model across all cloud services.
* How to build a cloud identity and access management solution using open standards, such as Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0, OpenID, OAuth, eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML), and Smart Common Input Method (SCIM).

ESBs and Enterprise Integration: August 10, 2011, New York, NY
The "ESBs and Enterprise Integration" workshop will provide both a high-level architectural view of how an enterprise service bus (ESB) fits within an SOA and demonstrate how an ESB can be deployed for connecting, mediating, orchestrating and managing application integration. Topics include:
* The role of an ESB within an SOA and benefits of loosely coupled application architectures.
* Patterns for mediation, application programming interface (API) management, and master data management.
* The use of ESBs for messaging, queuing and eventing.
* The ESB as a component of process orchestration, security and governance.
* Deployment patterns for high availability, load balancing, and performance tuning using real-world customer examples.
* Complementary integration technologies, including adaptors for SAP, Salesforce.com, Health Level Seven (HL7), Financial Information eXchange (FIX), and PayPal.
