Mr. Epstein, 38, is a partner of The Epstein Law Firm of Rochelle Park, N.J. For nearly a decade he has practiced with his father, the highly respected and accomplished trial attorney, Barry D. Epstein.
Michael Epstein was unanimously nominated to The Ten Leaders of Civil Trial & Personal Injury Law, Age 45 & Under, of New Jersey, receiving positive references from 12 individual out-of-firm peers.
Epstein, certified as a civil trial lawyer by the Supreme Court of The State of New Jersey, is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Bergen County Bar Association, for which he is a trustee and co-chair of the Civil Practice Committee. He is also a member of the New Jersey Association for Justice, formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is a summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Hamilton College and a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School. He and his wife Tracy today live in Wyckoff with their twin daughters.
According to his Ten Leaders profile, Michael Epstein is "already one of New Jersey's most accomplished young trial lawyers, a fast-emerging leader of a new generation of courtroom attorneys. In many respects he's the successor to a respected family brand name in trial law: He practices with his father, Barry D. Epstein, who for over 40 years has been one of the state's most successful independent trial lawyers. But to suggest that the younger Epstein might be a coattail-rider of any sort would be, according to everyone in the legal community, way off the mark: For starters, Michael Epstein - hard-working, careful, street-smart and aggressive, all not unlike the man down the hall - emerged from Harvard Law School recruited by some of the most prestigious firms in the U.S. After less than two years at one of them, Epstein decided to join his father."
Epstein, a native of Wayne, is a graduate of Wayne Hills High School, where he captained the varsity basketball team his senior year.
The Epstein firm handles classic plaintiffs' claims: Motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-fall cases, premises and product liability, medical malpractice, as well as employment cases. As Michael Epstein told Ten Leaders, "We are personal injury lawyers, and we don't shy away from that. We're proud to represent everyday people at times when they most need our expertise."

Personal Injury Law surveys are based on fundamental criteria, such as length of practice (12-year minimum for age 45 & Under attorneys) and focus of practice, as well as referrals by prominent peers. All Ten Leaders, including physicians and financial professionals, are referred voluntarily by a minimum of three of their out-of-firm peers. In most cases Ten Leaders designees receive five referrals.
