/24-7PressRelease/ -- Environmental artist, Richard Solomon, today introduces "Yellow Rain Drops," his new and original, "green" series of low cost, heart-shaped, high-quality digital art prints, ideal for Valentine's and
Earth Day gift-giving. The original single heart was made with over 1,600 individual golden yellow petals from the Wild Sunflower plant in Northern New Mexico.
Solomon's first product is two 8 1/2" x 11" digital prints, packaged together in clear cello, priced at $20 retail. Wholesale inquires invited. reaction is, 'I want a print!'
"I've also developed an imaginative idea for the healthcare industry. Every patient entering a healthcare facility would receive a small card (e.g. 5" x 8") with one of the "Yellow Rain Drop" images as part of their welcome package.
The patient can put this art card next to their bed and use it to lift their spirits.
"As an environmental artist who works exclusively with plant materials, everything I use in my art grows 'From a Seed,'" notes Solomon. "My art is different than most. It was in that context that Yellow Rain Drops was created."
Regarding the "green" nature of these prints and their packaging, Solomon advises, "high-quality digital printing requires high-quality materials, precise settings, and a masterful printer. To keep our product quality as high as possible, while keeping these art prints affordable, a rigorous balance was needed." Solomon's attention to these details resulted in the following specs: the paper is 50% recycled, 30% post-consumer waste, elemental chlorine free and manufactured by with 100% renewable energy offsets; the clear packaging is biodegradable, compostable, and sustainable; the craft cardboard is 100% recycled. "As more of our materials become even 'greener,' we will take advantage of the advances," he says.
Solomon is developing six new images for the Yellow Rain Drop series.
He plans to start offering them by spring.

Richard Solomon works exclusively with plant materials collected from nature...that include materials such as seeds, pods, grasses, barks, flowers, roots and leaves, etc. He collects his materials all over the Southwest, from the deserts to
the mountains. His work takes the form of flat-pressed/multi dimensional pieces and 3 dimensional sculptures; tied wrapped and bound with yucca fiber strips.
