The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia Launches First Fundraiser on Kickstarter to Record Orchestral Arrangements of Burt Bacharach's Most Famous Music

    PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 28, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia launched its first project on Kickstarter to raise funds to record orchestral arrangements of Burt Bacharach's most famous musical works. Realizing the importance of immortalizing Burt Bacharach's music, the Chamber Orchestra aims to raise at least $60,000 to record fifteen of Mr. Bacharach's most popular hits in an orchestral setting, arranged by some of the nation's most accomplished arrangers. The recording of this unique project will take place in The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts' Perelman Theater, and funding will aid the organization in paying for the musicians, conductor, performance hall, labor, grand piano, recording engineer, editing, mastering, etc. The project would also help in continuing to bridge the gap between popular and classical music. The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia honored Burt Bacharach - one of the most successful composers for six decades - at its Lifetime Achievement Award Gala in May 2013.
