/24-7PressRelease/ - December 03, 2007 - It has happened again. The Miss Universe Organization is under fire as the Miss California USA 2008 Pageant de-crowns and re-crowns contestants without following protocol. According to sources, the newly crowned Christina Silva was asked to relinquish her crown on Thursday night and make the call to a completely different recipient, as the 1st Runner up respectfully represented her title at several red carpet events in Los Angeles. Christina felt extremely manipulated when told to step down as the contest winner by event organizers based on the false pretense of a mysterious accounting error.

Christina has come forward with information stating that she felt pressured by the Producers of the event, who implied that she should agree to relinquish her crown or suffer negative repercussions that could affect her promising acting and modeling career.

Miss Silva said "They never could explain their accounting error, but told me that if I didn't give up my crown to Miss Barstow, my personal integrity could be questioned, and my career could potentially suffer."

The 1st Runner up, Miss Woodland Hills, Brandi Williams was notified by phone the day after the incident took place and told to keep the information to herself. "I was notified by phone after it all took place that there was a supposed mix up in the ballots and that Christina gave up her crown" remarked Miss Williams. "Somewhat in shock, I thought as the 1st runner up I was to take title, if for any reason, Miss California USA 2008 was asked to relinquish her crown, but they told me someone else was given the crown" Williams continued "My heart breaks for Christina and something is terribly wrong here. This just isn't adding up."

The discrepancy was said to be in a miscounting of the ballots and they were read backwards according to statements by K2 Productions. But if that were the case, how did the 3rd Runner up end up the new reigning Queen! These questions and many others are being asked by contestants and by the general public posting concerns on the internet and today new accusations of a FIX surfaced and the first law suit filed.

Miss Silva, a first time contestant, stated that a number of the other pageant contestants have contacted her, telling her that because of unspecified incidents, they had speculated that the contest might be fixed, but when the news broke Friday afternoon about the alleged accounting scandal, their worst assumptions became a reality.

Miss Silva is calling for an investigation. "We all put our trust in the MISS UNIVERSE institution, as have so many other young women through the years." Christina said, "I just think it is important for the truth to come out."

Ms. Silva has retained the West Los Angeles based law firm of Trivino Perez & Associates. Attorney Wilfredo Trivino Perez stated that his office intends to closely watch the investigative process. Mr. Trivino Perez added, it is Ms. Silva's sole intent to prevent such a horrific ordeal from happening to future Miss California contestants.

"This isn't about spilt milk and being upset about the crown" states Williams. "It's about justice for the young ladies who competed in this pageant, their sponsors and restoring integrity to an institution that is in terrible trouble. At the time I was proud to be a part this experience. I only hope we can find the truth and correct the horrible way things happened."

Interviews and pageant footage available upon request.
