Power 2 Transform, a health care leadership development company founded by master trainer and speaker John Bentley.
Beginning Feb. 20, 2009, leaders from Alabama's community health centers will participate in a program called
Leadership Vital Signs, which addresses key challenges in patient care, clinical operations, finance and staffing.
"The community health model is a beacon of effectiveness in our current health care crisis. Our goal is to strengthen communities by expanding service to at-risk populations across Alabama. We are looking forward to working with Mr. Bentley to help our health care leaders build upon their strengths and seize new opportunities," said Mary Hayes Finch, CEO of
APHCA.
Serving about 300,000 Alabamians annually, community health centers provide a "home base" for low-income people who live in areas where medical clinics are sparse. Public and private studies have found that individual patients at these centers receive high-quality care at an annual cost well below just one visit to a hospital emergency department.
