Darrin Sherrill Celebrates Commercial Pilot Certification -- Darrin Sherrill of Cumming, Georgia, celebrates becoming a certified commercial pilot. --
CUMMING, GA, January 30, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Darrin Sherrill is proud to announce and celebrate his Commercial Pilot certification. Having been a recreational pilot for many years, becoming a certified Multi-Engine Land Commercial Pilot is a milestone in Darrin Sherrill's life. With over 675 hours of flight time, Darrin Sherrill loves the air and is thrilled to improve his skills and expand his aviation opportunities.
The commercial pilot license allows Darrin Sherrill to fly passengers and receive compensation for his services. The standards that Darrin Sherrill exceeded to obtain the certification are in line with those of the International Civil Aviation Organization. To receive his commercial pilot license, Darrin Sherrill had to prove his proficiency in English, maintain his private license, receive commercial flight training, and complete written examinations. Darrin Sherrill also had to acquire second-class medical certification.
"It's been a challenge to get to this point, but every step of the journey has been worth it," says Darrin Sherrill of Georgia. "It's also neat that I've been able to inspire my son Michael to become a pilot as well. Whether or not he also pursues his Commercial certification, it's incredible that we can share our love for aviation together."
To reach this point of achieving his Commercial certification, Darrin Sherrill mastered the skill of flying through many months in the sky. His first certification was on February 8th, 2007, when Darrin S Sherrill received his Private Pilot certificate for Airplane Single Engine Land. This allowed Darrin Sherrill to fly planes with a single engine that only land on land. To land on the sea requires a different certification. Darrin Sherrill would later receive his Instrument Rating and High Performance Certificate. "If I pursue something, I go with everything I've got," says Darrin Sherrill, explaining his continued certifications.
Though the Commercial Pilot certification allows Darrin Sherrill to charge for his flight services, the license itself does not permit him to open a business or begin an operation. As a Commercial Pilot, Darrin Sherrill's services are limited to operations such as banner towing, instructing, flying photographers, and fulfilling various agricultural needs. Though he already has many certifications and licenses, Darrin Sherrill hopes to continue improving his flight skillset and become a more qualified pilot.
