Prompt Proofing Blog Post: Marketing Tips - Walk Your Talk -- Every business owner's aim is to attract customers but they are sometimes so busy with work that they neglect their own image - then wonder why clients are not flocking to their doors. --
VANCOUVER, BC, February 08, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Every business owner's aim is to attract customers but they are sometimes so busy with work that they neglect their own image - then wonder why clients are not flocking to their doors.
You would not, presumably, get your hair done by someone whose own hair was a mess or take health and nutrition advice from a practitioner who was seriously overweight and smoked heavily. Similarly, your clients need to see that you practise what you preach - you have to model the behaviour you want to see in your clients. If you are recommending that your clients update their website, include a clear call to action and become active on social media while your own website is outdated, not particularly user friendly and your social media presence is spasmodic at best, you cannot really expect to be taken seriously!
Think about the advice you give to your clients - are you exemplifying the behaviour you're requesting? If not - why not? Take a long, hard look at your own practices and make sure you're not sabotaging your business image. Take the advice you give clients and act on it yourself; if you're suggesting email marketing and regular newsletters to your clients, be sure you do this for your own business. Once prospective clients sees that you walk your talk and that it works for you, they will be eager to engage your services.
