February 08, 2013 /EIN News/ -- St Helen's based distance learning provider, NCC Home Learning has been shortlisted as a finalist in the E3 Business Awards. NCC Home Learning is one of four businesses nominated in the category "Business Education Collaboration Award".
NCC Home Learning which offers over 350 Distance Learning courses in a wide variety of subjects from Accounting to Zoology, has become a fantastic example of what can be achieved within the financial constraints of an economic downturn.
The E3 business awards commend traits within a business that it sees as essential; enterprise, education and employment, as well as the recognition of successful and innovative businesses from around the North West. NCC Home Learning have developed an excellent reputation for employing and developing apprentices, in conjunction with St Helen's Chamber of Commerce. This focus on young people and their positive influence on the business has been key to NCC Home Learning's success in becoming a finalist for this award.
Responding to the news, the company's MD, Tony Smith said: "NCC Home Learning is delighted to be recognised for its contribution to education in the North West. We work extremely hard to provide the best service possible to our customers, and to see the hard work rewarded with a nomination for such a prestigious award is a great testament to our business. Our focus is on growth and business development, so to be associated with the E3 awards is fantastic."
There will be three other organisations competing for the "Business Education Collaboration Award", Liverpool John Moores University, Bibi Interiors and LILA. A large number of businesses were vying for the opportunity to be nominated as finalists and after a thorough process of elimination the best businesses were found.
Managing Director Shakeel Desai of 1 Events Media, who have organised the awards, is delighted with the results, stating "we've been greatly impressed by the number and quality of entries and our independent judging panel...has remarked on the very high standards of achievement that they have seen. To have been shortlisted under the Business Education Collaboration Award category is therefore an impressive feat and NCC Home Learning is certainly to be congratulated."
