Specialty Hospital of Washington-Hadley Receives Recognition from DC Hospital Association
-- The District of Columbia Hospital Association has recognized the Specialty Hospital of Washington-Hadley for successfully maintaining their reduced rates of catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) well below the goal rate. --

Based on recent studies from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) found that about one-fourth of all hospitalized patients have a urinary catheter placed during their hospital stay. Infections that can result from urinary catheters are the most common type of hospital-acquired infection in U.S. hospitals.

The Joint Commissions Resource's (JCR) Hospital Engagement Network is part of the Partnership for Patients program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The goal of the program is to provide better care at lower costs, and reduce readmissions by 20% and reduce inpatient harms by 40%.
