Ferman Buick GMC of Tampa Reports on KBB Naming the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Best Full-size Pickup Truck
-- Ferman Buick GMC of Tampa is excited to say that the 2014 Sierra was deemed the best vehicle in its class by KBB in terms of value. In its annual five-year cost to own report, GMC's full-size truck beat the competition by a long stretch. --

TAMPA, FL, May 13, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Buick GMC dealer Ferman Buick GMC of Tampa highlights the recent award given to the 2014 GMC Sierra by Kelley Blue Book. KBB's five-year cost to own report found this full-size truck to be the most affordable in the long-term, with factors such as upfront options and maintenance all being considered. (1)

The Sierra's body style closely mimics the Chevy Silverado but is much more accessible under the hood to drivers who prefer to tackle projects on their own. (1) Three separate engine models are available in the 2014 series, including a 4.3L V-6, a 5.3L V-8 and a 6.2L V-8. (1) One of the elements that helped the Sierra beat its competitors is a redesigned drivetrain.

2014 Sierra Deemed Most Affordable Full-size Pickup

The six-speed automatic transmission, which comes standard in all three models, provides an extra fuel economy boost, which lightens the load on drivers' wallets. (1) The third-generation of the Sierra family features the highest city/highway fuel rates. Coupled with excellent performance and a supreme interior, the 2014 lineup is giving older generations and the current competition a run for their money.

To be fair, Tampa Buick dealers note that KBB ran separate cost-to-own reports for each of the new Sierra models. The Regular Cab Work Truck wins the title for biggest bang for your buck in the full-size truck class, with an average, estimated cost of $40,100 across a five-year stretch. (1) The Regular Cab, non-Work Truck setup came in a few hundred dollars higher at $40,518, with the Double Cab configuration topping the lineup at $42,819. (1) KBB's most recent evaluation placed the 2014 Sierra cost to own figure at $43,171. That figure is $700 less than the second-place Chevy Silverado and $4,500 less than the Toyota Tundra, which trailed in third. (1)
