LAWRENCEVILLE, GA, September 09, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Medway Air Ambulance is partnering with American Medical Response (AMR) and other air ambulance services to provide FEMA directed medical evacuations from the US Virgin Islands following Hurricane Irma. The storm has had catastrophic impacts on Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, necessitating patient evacuations from the island of St Thomas and St. Croix, USVI. Medway Air Ambulance has a crew of eight, including four pilots and four medical personnel, providing round the clock transport of patients from the Caribbean.

"Our partnership with AMR's Federal Disaster Response Team at this crucial time allows for patients with critical medical needs to be moved to safety," states Mark Chapman, Program Director at Medway Air Ambulance. "Our medical transport crews were positioned to assist in FEMA's emergency response efforts as soon as it was safe to do so. Our heart goes out to all those devastated during both hurricanes; Medway is doing everything we can to be there to assist," continues Chapman.
