Why don't you give us some details about you and your story? How did you get to where you are today?

I come from a cycle of poverty and I was determined to break that cycle. As a little girl, I started experimenting with drugs at the age of 12. Many obstacles tried to hinder my success such as "Low self-esteem, Abuse, dependency, and other things but through faith and GOD, I was able to break through those strongholds. I began to get tired of the way I was living and after becoming a mother, worried that I would be an unfit parent I realized life had so much more for me but I just needed to take action. After becoming clean and getting control of my life, I birth my business Caterpillar To Butterflies Life Coaching on Aug 12, 2018, and within months grew tremendously. I am not ashamed of my story. My story is what connects me to my target audience.

I'm sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

The road to success in my life was quite bumpy. I did not have the pleasure of a smooth road. I have had many obstacles to this journey. Doubt, fear, anxiety, and procrastination. I can say as a "mompreneur" there were many nights I wanted to give up and stop everything. Now looking back over every bump in the road and struggle I can say it gave me strength and the courage needed to pour into the woman I consult in my business. I started my business with nothing but faith, a dream, and 0 dollars. I mean nothing. When I started my business I was struggling financially. but I didn't give up. I knew I had a purpose in what I was doing. The tenacity I have is the reason I have become the powerhouse speaker and life coach I am today. My success wasn't easy but it is worth it! If I had to go through it all again I would. Why? Because now I have a passion for making sure my clients are all successful. All I can say is BUT GOD! I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me strength. He is the reason for my success.

Let's talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

My Speaking and Life Coaching company specializes in assisting support women transition out of toxic /abusive relationships I developed the name "Marquita L. Sikes "The Lifeologist" What sets me apart from other life coaches and speakers is I am more connected to my clients.

What's your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

ALWAYS SHOW UP! Don't let your current circumstances stop you from showing up. I promise if you just SHOW up, GOD will show out. Write the vision, make it plain! Take step one, GOD will take step 2. During my struggles, I pressed past the many attempts to delay my arrival in purpose. I am a living witness that your past doesn't determine your future. If you submit to GOD the enemy will flee. He may come to distract you, but if you hang on to GOD'S word you will win! My tenacity is the reason I am a CEO of multiple brands, an Investor. You have to want success as bad as you want air to breathe. Having that kind of drive will give you an armor of resilience. Resilience is key. Do not allow anything to distract you from your why. Your why is the reason you wanted to be successful in the first place. Do your research. Study to show yourself approved to your clients. Figure out who your target audience is and give them the cure to what's missing in their lives or journey to success.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success is a sense of giving back to the world and making a difference. It's a sense of accomplishment in all areas of my life. Success is reaching back to others to help reach a level of success. Success is leaving an inheritance to my children. Success is no matter how many times I get knocked down ensuring that I get back up. Success is knowing I am not perfect but perfecting my craft in as many ways as possible. That is what success personally means to me.

What's next for you?

We are in the process of developing an online course that will give aspiring other business owners the tools needed to be successful. Our online course will offer digital courses on dealing with trauma a Best Selling book, coming out called Rescued My story of Betrayal and Survival We will also have digital products and E-Books for sale.

My name is Marquita L Sikes. I'm 37 years old from Saint Louis, Missouri.

She started experimenting with drugs at the age of 12 to help cope with the rejection she was feeling and to deal with the sexual abuse she endured as a child. Marquita turned to drugs to help quiet my mind because she could never rest and always felt misplaced and unwanted.

Her friends who were also addicts were the only ones that accepted her. She found herself repeating the same vicious cycle of her childhood. When Marquita found out she was pregnant she was in fear that my child would be taken from me and raised in foster care like she was.

At this time someone special came into my life; A stranger who was watching her in the neighborhood and was growing concerned. Her name was "Big Mama." I found out later her name is Anita. She also was an ex-prostitute. She approached her and said God told her to find me after she dreamt she was murdered. That day Anita found Marquita, Anita took Marquita in her home, and convinced her that she needed help for herself and her baby. Marquita decided to take the help after abandoning my newborn child because she wanted to be a mother.

Marquita decided to go into an inpatient rehabilitation program. April She celebrated 16 years. Marquita has been a life coach since 2018 through a company she founded called Caterpillars to Butterflies.

Marquita coaches women on how to overcome abuse and rejection. She gives them the tools that they need Marquita loves to see the hope being restored. Marquita can give back to people what Anita gave her.
