As an author and public speaker, she also founded Tools for Motherhood, which aims to provide mothers of young children with the necessary "tools" to ensure their child 0-5 is ready for school. Dr. Duncan delivers leadership and supervisory training programs for the state as well as has served as a division training coordinator and agency training director.

During the early stages of her career, Dr. Duncan gained valuable expertise in various aspects of education and public speaking as an independent senior trainer consultant, student teacher supervisor, and science methods instructor at Washburn University. Similarly, she was the president of the Alumni Advisory Board at Friends University between 2010 and 2011. An expert in her field, she earned an Associate of Arts in business administration and an Associate of Arts in early childhood education from Butler Community College in 1982 and 1983, respectively. Subsequently, Dr. Duncan expanded her professional knowledge, completing a Bachelor of Arts in education at Wichita State University, a Master of Arts in teaching and education from Friends University, and a PhD in education from Walden University.

Due to her vast breadth of knowledge, Dr. Duncan has authored four books and several articles, including "Tools for Motherhood Devotion and Prayer Journal: Living a Life of Priorities Saturated in Prayer," "Tools for Motherhood Resource Guide: 1000+ School Readiness Activities Moms Can Use with Their Young Children 0-5 Years of Age to Build Toward School Success," "You Really Can Make a Difference!: 7 Strategies Moms Can Use to Support School Readiness For Their Young Child," and her dissertation, "Case Study of Teen Mother's Perceptions of Their Influence on Preschooler's Language Development." Likewise, Dr. Duncan had the privilege of presenting at a celebration for authors through an event organized by the state's governor and delivered presentations at Oxford University and the World Early Childhood Conference in Panama City, Panama, Central America.

Dr. Duncan has aligned herself with Kappa Delta Pi to remain abreast of ongoing industry changes as well as a membership with OMEP International - USA. Outside her work, she has contributed to her community as an advisory board member and mentor mom through MOPS International. Additionally, she devoted more than 30 years to volunteering with various mother's groups, from inner-city groups to local ones and those within religious institutions. In recognition of her outstanding achievements, she received a plaque for her significant contributions to Friends University. While her career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Duncan is most proud of bringing her son into the world. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she attributes her success to female mentors who invested in her journey, including a former mayoral candidate, an elementary school principal, and an accomplished writer. Within the coming years, Dr. Duncan intends to expand her "Tools for Motherhood" program nationwide.
