She was also deeply involved in human resources strategy and management at Kaiser Permanente as the director of people strategy and innovation between 2016 and 2019 and as lead consultant of national workforce planning from 2015 to 2016. Dr. Johnson's expertise in organizational development was also honed at Charles Schwab between 2014 and 2015, where she focused on enterprise learning and talent management. During an earlier stage of her career, she held impactful roles such as senior workforce scientist at Evolv from 2010 to 2014, research strategist and test development at PSI Services LLC between 2007 and 2010, and providing personal coaching through People Places Inc. from 1996 to 2003.
Throughout her career, Dr. Johnson has been recognized for her contributions to the field, including being a keynote speaker on people strategy at the Leap HR Healthcare conference in 2018. She has also been affiliated with organizations outside of her industry. In 2023, she was appointed as an independent director on the board of directors for USA Karate (USA-NKF).
Dr. Johnson's extensive academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Longwood University. Subsequently, she earned a master's degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in industrial and organizational psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 2008. This rigorous academic training equipped Dr. Johnson with the skills necessary to excel in her field and significantly contribute to her organization's success.
Outside of her degrees, Dr. Johnson is affiliated with the Association for Talent Development, where she served as the board development director from 2006 to 2007.
