Likewise, the company acts as a consultant for new development and retrofit projects in reducing their carbon emissions or have net-zero or carbon-negative goals. In this regard, she has taken on Promont, Latitude Compliance and Smarcon as clients, among many others, wherein she has served as an architectural sustainability director, coordinator, consultant, and designer to pivot the companies toward sustainable and collaborative practices.

Possessing a multifaceted background in architecture and artistic expression, Ms. Banayan conjured the idea of founding her company while working with Promont and Latitude Compliance, where she maintained involvement in evaluating buildings and determining how they can meet LL97 compliance regulations in retrofits and new constriction. Working in New York City for many years, she has been directly involved in efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the city, both in legislation and in real-time decarbonization plans and construction methods. Earlier in her career, she served as a BIM coordinator and designer at Smarcon, the lead designer at the Ad Hoc Cooperative, an architectural intern at the Metropolitan Transport Authority in New York City, and an architectural drafter at Mayerfield Architecture beginning in 2014.

In addition to her professional roles, Ms. Banayan is the youngest board member of the Westchester Hudson Valley chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Currently, she is also a co-chairperson of the Emerging Professional Committee and the Committee On The Environment with the Westchester Hudson Valley chapter of the American Institute of Architects. By being a present board member of the New York Passive House, as well as her participation in The Open Air Collective, Ms. Banayan was instrumental in facilitating positive change toward reducing carbon emissions in the construction industry and fostering monumental connections miraculously shifting the industry. As part of her invaluable contributions, she worked on the Low-Embodied Carbon Concrete Bill, which targeted carbon-producing concrete in New York City. With the bill recently passed in New York, Ms. Banayan has been a tireless advocate for implementing new technologies in the production of concrete to mitigate its harmful effects on the environment. To this end, she feels a strong sense of responsibility in changing the architecture profession and its practices, leveraging her comprehensive knowledge of the field to aid in the fight against climate change.

To prepare for her career, Ms. Banayan pursued an education at Escola Tecnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona in Spain, where she completed coursework in architecture. She also studied climate change governance in the Student Exchange Master's Program at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam before earning a Bachelor of Arts in studio art and a Bachelor of Architecture from the City College of New York's Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture in 2020. Impressively, Ms. Banayan was the first individual to complete a double major at the City College of New York, and she was presented with the Dean's Design/Build Project Award from Interim Dean Gordon A. Gerbert. She also won several other accolades for her academic and architectural achievements, was featured in an exclusive interview with Monica Sanders in 2023, and has been a key speaker on sustainability, decarbonization and retrofitting buildings throughout her career. Moreover, Ms. Banayan is a certified Green Professional.

In accounting for her success, Ms. Banayan credits the supportive influence of her family, all of whom are recognized as high achievers and diligent workers who instilled in her the value of hard work.
