MIDDLESEX, ENGLAND, May 18, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Indira Anand, Chair of BAAAP (The British Association of Accredited Ayurvedic Practitioners), has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in medicine.
Indira Anand is a multifaceted individual who retired from a distinguished career in finance and now serves as chair of the British Association of Accredited Ayurvedic Practitioners. BAAAP is an organization dedicated to promoting Ayurveda, an ancient medical philosophy founded in India.
As chair of BAAAP, Dr. Anand plays a leading role in the organization, in part by ensuring that all members of the group are accredited for the protection of the public trust. Dr. Anand is also an Ayurvedic practitioner herself, and in this capacity she conducts community outreach programs emphasizing preventive healthcare and holds Ayurvedic workshops and meditation classes.
In addition to her work with BAAAP, Dr. Anand heads a UK registered charity called Sahara Means Support, which she established with the goal of supporting the physically, mentally, economically, and socially challenged. Dr. Anand strongly believes in giving back to the community. After working for many years as an investment manager and director of Merrill Lynch International, she now takes great pleasure in the opportunity to focus her energy on these community-based projects.
She is also passionate about yoga. Dr. Anand is a qualified teacher of yoga, trained at the prestigious Bihar School of Yoga in Mungher, India and has been teaching yoga for charity since 1995. Dr. Anand holds a Ph.D. in economic history from the University of Delhi. Away from the demands of her work, she enjoys playing the sitar and writing poetry, and has several publications to her name.
