With more than 40 years of experience to her credit, Lucy Agostini, Esq., has excelled as a sole practitioner at Agostini & Slattery LLC since 2011. Specializing in family law with an emphasis on complex pre- and post-judgment matrimonial litigation, she held the title of partner at Agostini & Slattery from 1993 to 2011 and at Agostini, Copeland & Slattery from 1990 to 1993. Ms. Agostini also operated as a solo practitioner for the Law Offices of Lucy Agostini from 1988 to 1990.

Previously, Ms. Agostini served as an associate for various law firms, including Citrino, Balsam & DiBiasi from 1979 to 1980, Abraham & Stark from 1980 to 1983, and Horowitz, Bross, Sinins & Imperial from 1983 to 1988. She began her law career as a law clerk for the Honorable June Strelecki in the matrimonial division of the Superior Court of New Jersey from 1978 to 1979. Prior to these appointments, Ms. Agostini was an eighth grade mathematics teacher at Franklin Middle School, now known as John H. Walker Middle School, in Nutley, New Jersey, between 1974 and 1978.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Agostini pursed an education at the University of Bridgeport, earning a Bachelor of Arts in education in 1972. She concluded her studies at New York Law School, obtaining a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1978. Following these accomplishments, Ms. Agostini was admitted to practice law by the New Jersey State Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1978. Furthermore, she has been a court-approved economic family law mediator and court-approved economic domestic violence family law mediator since 2013 and 2015, respectively.

A lecturer for the National Business Institute, the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Essex County Bar Association, Ms. Agostini has contributed as a co-chairperson to the Essex County Family Bench-Bar Committee from 1993 to 1995 and the Essex County Bar Speakers Bureau Committee from 1990 to 1991. Additionally serving as a jurist for the Barry Croland Family Law American Inn of Court between 2015 and 2017 and since 2018, she has been associated with the New Jersey Supreme Court District V-B Ethics Committee since 2017 and the District VC Fee Arbitration Committee as a member and a former chairperson between 1995 and 1999. An active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association, she additionally acted as a legal advisor for the Liberty chapter of Parents Without Partners from 1989 to 1991. Ms. Agostini has found success with her written works as well, having authored "Using the Guidelines" in 2005, "Preparation and Trial of a Divorce Case" in 2003 and "Initial Interview, Overview, Control and Focus" in 2000, among others.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Agostini has accrued numerous accolades throughout her impressive career. Lauded among New Jersey's Top Rated Lawyers by Inside Jersey in 2013, she was the recipient of the Essex County Family Law Achievement Award in 2006. Ms. Agostini has also maintained a 5.0 AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell in recognition of her commanding legal competency and high ethical standards.
