Chef Berg brings 30 years of professional experience in culinary arts to Five Star Event Catering, the exclusive event caterer to the Barber Motorsports Park. He is considered an expert in event planning and directing catered events. He also provided his services to corporate and fine dining functions and large parties at high-profile locations in Birmingham. Chef Berg has published two cookbooks: 'Just Soups' and 'The American Chef.' He has also been featured in several articles in The Birmingham News. Prior to founding Five Star Event Catering, Chef Berg was with Amalgamated Concepts, where he helped found the Copper Grill Lobster & Steakhouse and Crepes Egg-Setera Bakery. From 1993 until 2000, he was director of culinary operations and corporate chef for Vincent's Markets, the popular upscale meals-to-go portion of Bruno's Supermarkets.

In 1985, Mr. Berg received his degree in Culinary Arts and Food and Beverage Management from Johnson & Wales University. In the future, Mr. Berg hopes to expand the company nationally and he attributes his success to the support he receives from his mentors and colleagues.
