JASPER, TX, June 25, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sherry Scott Wilson, Guidance Counselor for Jasper Independent School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of counseling.

With 35 years of professional experience, Ms. Wilson specializes in talking to students with behavior or academic problems, handling transfer records and counseling at-risk students. She previously was a science teacher for eight years and decided she could reach children with problems one-on-one instead of teaching in the classroom. She attributes her success to the encouragement she received from her parents.

Ms. Wilson received her Master's Degree in Education in 1971, and her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1970, from Texas Southern University. She is a member of the Texas State Teachers Association, the National Education Association, the Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Beta Beta Beta and Alpha Kappa Alpha.
