E. Denise Hays Honored for Excellence in Operations Management

E. Denise Hays and her husband Hal incorporated Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI) in 2002. The firm, which is known for its award winning general & civil construction projects, has expanded to include service to the federal, military and government marketplace in heavy & civil engineering construction, commercial & institutional buildings, site preparation & demolition, emergency response services and utility system construction projects.

E. Denise Hays, who is recognized by her peers for her expertise in financial management, client relations, marketing, federal contract procurement, and compliance, has held the position of VP and CFO since 2000. She attributes her success to sincerity and a desire to learn. She is the recipient of the ABC Gold Level Safety Award and the U.S. Small Business Administration Award for Excellence presented to Hal Hays Construction, Inc. in recognition of outstanding contribution and service to the nation by a small business in satisfying the needs of the Federal procurement system.

Ms. Hays completed coursework in business administration at Truckee Meadows Community College and has attended several courses through SBA - Small Business Administration on Government Contracting. She is a member of the Riverside Chamber of Commerce and also served as Chair person for the Small Business Committee for the Society of American Military Engineers on a National level.

Since 1990, Hal Hays Construction, Inc., has successfully delivered over 400 multidisciplinary projects valued at over $142M to federal and state governments and the military including CalFIRE (California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection), US Army Corps of Engineers, National Park Service, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, US Marine Corps, US Coast Guard, US Air Force, Department of Veteran Affairs, Department of Homeland Security, US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Indian Affairs and numerous local governments.
