AUSTIN, TX, August 10, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ricardo Cidale, Chief Executive Officer of LabOne Systems, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in digital media software.

An international business specialist in the high tech industry, Ricardo Cidale has 26 years of professional acumen in business planning and team development. Now approaching his seventh year as Chief Executive Officer for LabOne Systems S.A. and LabOne Systems America, LLC, Mr. Cidale is responsible for executive planning and corporate development.

Mr. Cidale attributes his positive results at LabOne Systems to his tenacity and lifelong interest in technology. Raised in a humble neighborhood in Brazil, Mr. Cidale grew up dreaming about and building "toys" using scraps from a junkyard near his home. This passion for creating things later fueled his efforts at Texas A&M University, where he received a scholarship to study engineering. He became a research assistant with the university and ultimately wrote his first book, "The Wizard of DOS", which was adopted by several courses at the university and later published by The McGraw-Hill Companies, later followed by "Digital Virus", both best seller hits at target markets. He studied finite element analysis in graduate school and created Wild West Software, a PC company that authored software capable of performing the work equivalent to a mainframe computer.

After successful tenures at Compaq Corporation, Dell Computers and RealNetworks, Inc., Mr. Cidale founded Bataguassu Capital in 2003, to enable companies to share digital audio and visual content within social networks. Bataguassu quickly acquired LabOne Systems, which now allows for millions of users across Latin America and Southern Europe to experience music and movies over the Internet and mobile networks, in a seamless and ever-evolving way.

In addition to his work with LabOne Systems and Bataguassu Capital, Mr. Cidale serves as a senior partner and board director of Inizio Urban Development, a start-up new urbanism company building and marketing real estate projects in Brazil and the U.S. He is also a board director at ChequeBot, Inc. and Automatos, Inc. both software companies in the Internet space. Ricardo Cidale founded and headed the environmental protection association AMA Geriba in Búzios, Brazil in 2002, where he presided until 2006. His leadership yielded tremendous progress directly impacting and enhancing legislation pertaining to the protection of the coastal environment at state and municipal levels. He received a silver plaque for his contributions to the community. Ricardo Cidale is a strong advocate and supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the Worries and Wonders Foundation in the United States. The Cidale family also sponsors Antonio Ferreira Silva, one of the top 10 non-professional tri-athletes in the world who has placed second in Ironman Hawaii.

A graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Cidale holds a master's degree in structural engineering and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with a minor in mathematics and Spanish. Mr. Cidale also holds latus sensus degrees in corporate governance by IBMEC, and Advanced Concrete Design by the University of Sao Paulo. In 2008, Mr. Cidale was honored as the Cambridge Who's Who "Executive of the Year in Digital Media Software," a title reserved for only the two most prominent individuals within each industry per year.
