STEVENSON, WA, October 5, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jan Holwegner, Executive Director of the Skamania County Council on Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in emergency response.

A recognized authority in emergency response, Jan Holwegner possesses over 14 years of professional experience, the last three of which she has worked as Executive Director of the Skamania County Council on Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault. Driven by her desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others, Ms. Holwegner develops training sessions and programs for emergency response teams, trains teams on safety risk assessment, supervises staff and coordinates all operations. She was also responsible for the increase of the children's community response team from 20 volunteers to 60. Her reward in all of this, she notes, was having the opportunity to work for a children's hospital. As she moves forward in her career, she aspires to teach emergency response skills in her community.

Ms. Holwegner not only demonstrates unique ambition and compassion in her professional life, she also demonstrates these traits in her personal life. She volunteered for the Children's Hospital Guild Association of Seattle Children's Hospital, Research & Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Progressive Animal Welfare Society. In 2006, her efforts were recognized with the United Way Excellence Award.

Educated in emergency management, Ms. Holwegner is a certified CPR instructor, a certified basic life support instructor, an ERTI certified decontamination trainer and holds an incident command system certification.
