Mary Rennebohm Honored for Excellence in Education

Rennebohm's "Counseling Abroad: Using Your Skills in the World," was published in a popular book

SALEM, OR, October 14, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary Rennebohm, International School Counselor for the Universal American School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

With 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Rennebohm attributes her success to the encouragement she receives from her parents. As an international school counselor for the Universal American School, she currently works with children from 70 different nationalities in Dubai, UAE where she is responsible for handling transition issues, cultural adjustments, academic assessments, interviews, orientations, and group work with the children. She also organizes parenting workshops, plans lessons for the international baccalaureate program, and teaches and counsels kindergarten through 12th grade students. Ms. Rennebohm wrote an article titled "Counseling Abroad: Using Your Skills in the World." This article was published in the book: "Empowering the 21st Century Professional School Counselor" through the American School Counselor Association.

Ms. Rennebohm previoulsy taught physical education and health in the Oregon school system from 1979 to 1991. She has been working and traveling overseas since 1991, and has previously worked in various International Schools in Germany, Austria, Singapore, and the Netherlands.

In 1983, Ms. Rennebohm received her Master of Science in Counseling from Western Oregon University. She holds a certification in education, which she received through Oregon State University, and is a member of the American School Counselor Association.
