Ms. Schroffner has devoted her career to providing legal service in the private and public sectors

BOSTON, MA, November 4, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ingrid Chiemi Schroffner, Assistant General Counsel at the Executive Office of Health and Human Services ("EOHHS"), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in legal services.

As Assistant General Counsel at EOHHS, Ms. Schroffner is responsible for court hearings, conducting meetings and discussing legislative changes, working on resolutions within families involved in probate cases and handling complex disputes including probate matters, fiduciary duties and corporate governance issues. Prior to joining EOHHS, Ms. Schroffner practiced probate/family law at Burns & Levinson LLP in Boston. In 2007, she spoke and presented at the Asian Women's Connection event, "Dollars and Sense," to raise people's financial and estate planning intelligence quotient, and from 2003 to the present has participated in and organized cultural competence seminars to increase awareness of cultural considerations to facilitate justice. She was interviewed about cultural considerations on "Legal Line," which airs on Boston Neighborhood Network, RCN Channel 15 and Comcast Channel 9. She attributes her success to encouragement she received from her family, mentors, professors and practitioners, especially Fr. David Gill of Boston College and Chief Justice Joseph P. Warner of the Massachusetts Appeals Court, for whom she clerked after law school.

Ms. Schroffner received her JD from Boston College Law School in 1995 and her Bachelor of Arts from Boston College in 1992. She serves as Council Member for the Boston Bar Association ("BBA") and is past President of the Asian American Lawyers of Massachusetts. She has also been in the steering committee for the Family Law Section of the BBA and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts. Ms. Schroffner hopes to continue her work on behalf of the Commonwealth and ultimately, to become a judge.
