Normal, IL, November 5, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ivone Fraiha Clark, Music Professor, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in music instruction.
An internationally-known coloratura soprano with some opera roles and also a conductor, Mrs. Clark enjoyed a colorful 40 years in music. She now shares her expertise as a professor, giving lessons in voice and piano with a special gift in teaching music theory and harmony. In the course of her illustrious career, Mrs. Clark performed for audiences around the world, including two popes (the Catholic Pope John Paul II and the Syrian Orthodox Patriarca Dom Ignatius Zakka). Both were by direct Papal request. She also taught as a university professor in her native Brazil. Honored with the Gold Medal at the Fenegro Music Festival in Italy in 2004, nations around the world recognize her talents. Brazil honored her with medals from both the Army and Air Force in 1988 and the Business Woman of Year trophy in 1994. She attributes her success and longevity to her talent.
Mrs. Clark obtained her MA Degree from Campbellsville University in Kentucky in 2009 and earned her Music Bachelor's Degree in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1982. Her professional affiliations in the USA include Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts and the Musician's Club of Women in Chicago. Recently remarried, Mrs. Clark spends time with her husband and six children when she is not working. She is happy to have built a second career in teaching and looks forward to more years in the same capacity.
