As a registered nurse and team leader at Nashville General Hospital at Meharry, Ms. Young is responsible for supervising the team on the surgical floor. Her passion for nursing began when she observed nurses caring for her grandfather when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She attributes her success to her faith in God and to the support she receives from the chief operating officer, chief nursing officer and other staff.

Ms. Young received her associate's degree in nursing from Tennessee State University. She hopes to start her own business to help patients discharged from hospitals due to limited resources.
